Migration using Golden Gate : Nonstop server relocation and switching business operations as part of a failover setup

Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company, Limited (SMCC), which is widely known as Japan’s pioneering issuer of Visa credit cards, is using Nonstop servers for their credit card authorization (processing max. 500 transaction per second). This session will present a real-world case of server migration for mission-critical systems.

Due to the end of support, they migrated from NB56000c to new servers with updated configurations and relocated them to different locations.

From : two servers located in the west side of Japan
To : one server in the west side, the other server is in the east side

During the system transition, real-time synchronization of SQL databases was performed, and they were migrated to the new systems with only a few minutes of downtime.”

This migration realized DR LIVE RUN. The systems in the east and west are connected via a network, and business operations are regularly switched between them as part of an east-west failover setup.
